Deals in the District

Today is Thirsty Thursday. At least that's what they call it at McFadden's Sports Saloon (1330 Grand, 816-471-1330), where Bud Light and Absolut vodka go for cheap. So do pizzas. Get a pie for just $5 between 10 p.m. and 2 a.m. While you're in the Power and Light District, check out some of the other watering holes in KC's much-ballyhooed new entertainment center. At Howl at the Moon (1334 Grand, 816-471-4695), tonight is known as College Night. If you still have a valid college ID, break it out for free admission. From 8 p.m. to close, everyone gets Bud products two-for-one and Jäger and Bacardi Bombs for $5. From 8 p.m. to close Sunday through Thursday, bowling is just $6.95 a game at Lucky Strike Lanes (1370 Grand, 816-471-2316). Shoes cost an extra $3.95. But that should still leave you enough for a postgame bottle of wine at Vinino (1320 Grand, 816-221-8466) — especially if your team includes some extra X chromosomes. Women score 10 percent off bottles of wine on Ladies' Night. Howl at the Moon
